I would never complain about my hair color, but a few things come as a package deal with strawberry-blonde hair.

The Plight of My Natural Coloring : wedding hair pittsburgh Celebri02 celebri02

1. Pale skin…and I mean ghastly pale.  We can try our best to hide this feature.  But you know we are more susceptible to wrinkles, so tanning is out.  Fake tanner is nice on occasion, but is very time-consuming and hard to get right.  And when fake tanner is not right, it is very wrong!  So we are left to embrace our pale skin.

2. Strawberry-blonde eyelashes.  Strawberry-blonde hair comes with strawberry-blonde eyelashes, which happen to be socially unacceptable, for women anyway.  So, since the day I realized what was and was not socially acceptable, I began applying mascara.

Mascara is the one product that I will NEVER leave the house without.  I have been trying and applying mascara brands every day since approximately the 7th grade.  I will probably be found applying mascara when Jesus comes back!

Because of my extensive background knowledge on mascara, I thought I would share a few of my favorites.

1. Favorite all-around:

Stila major MAJOR lash mascara

I like the brush shape, not so fat that I get it everywhere, but fat enough that less swipes will do- good for when I am in a hurry (which is always).  This is just a good formula.  It lasts a long time, too.  Great everyday mascara.

2.  Best Drugstore Find

Revlon Grow Luscious

Again with the good brush.  Good formula.  Fast to apply.  It is a little messy in that it takes a bit to dry.  Washes completely off with just soap and water.  Supposed to nourish eyelashes to make them grow.  I am not sure if it did that for me.

3.  Best Drama

Diorshow

This is for a night when you need BIG lashes.  I got my biggest lashes ever with this one, but the formula tends to dry out quickly which causes it not to last long and it to flake on cheeks.  I asked someone at Sephora one time who this was, and he said it was because this particular formula was cream-based?

4.  Best to Get the Baby Lashes

L’Oreal Telescopic

The small brush helps me get all the way to the bottom of those pale lashes, and it grabs all the baby ones that bigger brushes miss.  The sacrifice with this one is time, it takes longer to build up enough, and volume.  This one gives the best length.

That’s all I have for now.  I do not have a favorite waterproof mascara, because I hate every waterproof formula I have ever tried.  But they are necessary for days at the beach.  Please share if you have a favorite waterproof formula or any other favorites you have that I should try.  Oh, and one more question-  How do I keep mascara off my pillowcase?  My pillowcase is seriously out of control!  It still gets on there even after I wash off my mascara!

Thanks!
